So you wake up every morning and you aren’t sure what to do. Your home is upside down, your job is paying you less, but you are a little uneasy as you are continually dipping into your savings account to make the mortgage payment. And in the back of your mind somewhere you remember that your home loan is due to reset in 9 months. Just so you know, you are not alone. In fact a number of people in southern California are currently in a similar situation. Is it disgraceful to short sell your home? That is sort of a moral question you have to overcome, but I personally think your mental health and emotionally stability are much more important than what your credit rating is.
Sure everything these days seems to be purchased with a credit card or loan, but guess what, that whole system is being changed and won’t be the same in a year from now. This country, as a whole, has over-borrowed and now we all simultaneously are paying the price for that burden we have put on the real estate market.
If you are debating on whether or not to sell your home, ask someone for help. If you have a questions, but don’t know the answer, don’t feel ashamed to talk to a real estate agent who might be able to point you in the right direction. We are hear to help if you have questions so don’t hesitate to ask. Each individual case is different, but remember the longer you wait the harder it becomes. Renting isn’t a horrible option, especially in a market like this.
